Joshua A. Johnston, M.D.

Joshua Johnston, MD is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, reconstructive surgery and trauma.  He enjoys caring for patients from all walks of life and strives to provide his patients with efficient, thorough and compassionate care.

 

Dr. Johnston completed his medical school training at the University of Washington and residency training at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies.  He recently completed a fellowship at the the Santa Monica Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Group, a FIFA Centre of Medical Excellence, where he trained under the supervision of Drs. Bert Mandelbaum and Thomas Knapp.  During fellowship, he served as assistant team physician for the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA Major League Soccer teams, the US Men's and Women's National Soccer Teams and the Pepperdine University and Santa Monica College athletic departments.

 

After completing fellowship, Dr. Johnston established practice at Federal Way Orthopedic Associates in Federal Way, Washington.  He currently is team doctor for the Tacoma Tide FC and Seattle Sounders Women soccer teams and Bellarmine Preparatory High School.

 

Dr. Johnston was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington.  He graduated from Pacific Lutheran University where he was a member of the 1993 NAIA Div. II National Championship football team.  He lives in Lakewood, Washington with his wife and two children.  In his free time, he enjoys golf, basketball, soccer, and running.
